MAJA is time to pause, feel and reconnect with yourself.
Getting to know MAJA
What is MAJA?
MAJA is a three-hour massage session created by Laura, shaped by years of experience, careful observation of the body, sensitive touch and a wish to give each person more time and attention.
It is not a fixed sequence of massage movements. What matters here is both how I work with the body and how it responds to touch. Each session is individual, guided by how you feel and what you notice in your body.
For me, MAJA brings together professional knowledge, experience, sensitive hands and care for another person. It is an opportunity to slow down and pay attention to something that often gets pushed aside in everyday life: our bodies.
Why is MAJA described as an art of working with the body?
To me, the body is more than a collection of anatomical structures, and touch is more than a technique to perform correctly.
This art takes shape when professional knowledge and experience meet sensitive touch, careful observation and the ability to notice the body's response. It is not a mechanical repetition of learned movements. It is attentive, individual work with a particular person.
What matters to me is both what I do with my hands and how the body responds. This relationship between knowledge, experience and sensitivity is at the heart of MAJA.
Why does the session last three hours?
Three hours allow us to take our time and give more attention to you and your body.
In everyday life, we are used to doing everything quickly: completing tasks, solving problems, caring for others and moving on. We often barely notice how rarely we pause and listen to ourselves.
MAJA offers a chance to step away from that pace and make time for yourself. It is not three hours of identical, uninterrupted massage movements. The session develops in response to how you feel, how your body reacts, movement and changes of position.
This is not time in which you have to get something done. It is time you give to yourself.
How will I manage three hours?
This is one of the most common questions before a MAJA session.
You do not have to endure three hours as if they were a long wait or a task to complete. Your position, the movements, the nature of the touch and your breathing can change during the session. Your thoughts may settle, then return to everyday concerns. Sometimes people fall asleep; sometimes they simply rest with what they feel.
Gradually, your attention may shift away from watching the clock and thinking about what comes next. Your sense of time and space may change, so three hours can feel different from the way they do in daily life.
You do not need to lie in one position throughout, make yourself feel calm or control your thoughts. If you would like to change position, move or share what you are feeling, you can.
You do not need to learn how to get through three hours. You only need to come. The session unfolds gradually from there.
Can I fall asleep during MAJA?
Of course. If you fall asleep during the session, you do not need to wake yourself up or try to stay alert.
Sometimes, when there is finally time to stop and nothing more to do, tiredness catches up with us and we fall asleep. That is completely normal.
You do not need to keep monitoring your sensations, try to relax or experience anything special. You can simply allow yourself to be as you are in that moment.
There is nothing you have to accomplish during MAJA. This time is for you.
Reconnecting with your body
Do I need to know why I am coming to MAJA?
No. You do not need a precise goal or to know in advance what your body needs.
Sometimes we feel tired, tense or in need of a pause, but find it difficult to put into words what we really want. At other times, we simply feel that we would like some time for ourselves.
Before the session, we can talk about how you feel and what you have been noticing. You do not need to explain every sensation or arrive with a specific task in mind.
What if I find it hard to relax or feel connected to my body?
That is normal.
In everyday life, we often run on autopilot: working, solving problems, caring for others and rarely pausing to listen to ourselves. We may know exactly what needs doing while noticing less and less how we feel.
If you rarely make time to notice your body, it may initially be difficult to settle or become aware of your sensations. You do not need to know how to relax, know what you ought to feel or try to experience anything special.
You can simply come and allow yourself to be as you are at that moment. Reconnecting with your body can be different for everyone.
Can I come if I am used to being in control and find it hard to switch off?
Yes. We are often used to planning, deciding, controlling and constantly doing things. Pausing can feel unfamiliar, and thoughts about work, responsibilities or worries may keep going round.
You do not need to fight your thoughts or force yourself to relax. There is no need to criticise yourself if you do not feel calm straight away.
You can simply notice what is happening and, when you wish, gently bring your attention back to your body. You do not need to do anything perfectly.
Do I need to have tried massage before?
No. You can come to MAJA even if this is your first experience of this kind of bodywork.
Before we begin, we discuss how you feel, your expectations and any relevant health circumstances. You do not need to know exactly what you expect or be able to describe every sensation.
You can come out of curiosity, to make time for yourself or simply because you feel a need to pay more attention to your body.
Will I need to talk during the session?
You do not have to keep talking.
We discuss anything important before the session. During it, you can share what you feel, ask questions or simply rest quietly.
If you would like a different pressure or position, or feel uncomfortable, you can always say so. Your comfort and safety matter throughout our time together.
Do I need to feel something special? Can emotions come up?
No. You do not need to aim for a particular state, wait for a specific sensation or try to experience anything unusual.
You may feel relaxed, notice tension in your body, find your thoughts wandering to everyday concerns or simply lie quietly. Sometimes people notice emotions, but these may or may not arise.
There is no single right way to experience MAJA. Emotions are not a requirement, and their appearance does not in itself mean that a particular change has taken place. You do not need to seek them out, analyse them or try to make yourself feel anything.
You have nothing to prove, achieve or experience according to a set script.
How should I feel afterwards?
There is no single right answer.
One person may feel relaxed, another may be more aware of sensations in their body, and someone else may want some quiet. Each person's feelings and response to a session are individual.
MAJA does not promise that everything will change after one meeting. Many things affect how we feel, so a specific outcome cannot be promised in advance.
What matters to me is giving each person attention, working individually and responding to the body, rather than promising something I cannot guarantee.
Making time for your body
Do I need to wait until something hurts before I come?
No. You can care for your body before pain or pronounced discomfort appears.
In daily life, we often get used to tiredness, tension and constant rushing. Sometimes we only remember our bodies when they demand our attention.
MAJA invites you to make time for yourself earlier, notice how you feel and pay more attention to your body's needs, without waiting for more serious concerns to arise.
Why invest in caring for your body?
Every day, we invest time and energy in work, goals, financial security and caring for others. Yet we often only remember our bodies when they begin to signal that they need attention.
Our bodies are part of everything we do. Through them, we experience our days, work, build relationships and pursue our dreams. Still, we often forget to give them the same attention we give to other goals in life.
Investing in your body is not only about spending money on massage. It is also about consciously choosing to make time for how you feel and what your body needs.
MAJA is an opportunity to give yourself three hours, step back from your usual pace and pay more attention to the body you live in every day.
You do not need to wait until your body can no longer stay quiet. You can begin caring for it today.
Safety and preparation
Is MAJA medical treatment?
No. MAJA is a massage and bodywork session. It does not replace medical diagnosis, a consultation with a doctor or prescribed treatment.
If you have unexplained pain, health concerns or doubts about whether massage is suitable for you, speak to a healthcare professional first.
Before the session, it is important to tell me about health conditions, injuries, pregnancy, medication and anything else that could affect the safety of the session.
How should I prepare for MAJA?
No special preparation is needed. The main things are to arrive at the agreed time and share any relevant health information before the session.
If you have particular expectations, questions or concerns, we can talk about them before we begin.
You do not have to decide in advance what you want to feel or what outcome you expect. You have nothing to prove and do not need to do anything perfectly. This is time you give to yourself.
